Ts-324 Standing Seam Roof System

One panel profile.

Three seam options.

Engineered for modern wind uplift, weathertightness, and longer purlin spans.

What is the TS-324 roof system?

TS-324 is a mechanically seamed standing seam roof system manufactured by BC Steel. It uses a single 24-inch wide, 3-inch tall trapezoidal panel that can be installed with one of three seam options: RollLok® , TripleLok®, or QuadLok®. The seam choice can be matched to the project’s wind exposure without changing the panel inventory or the install workflow.

TS-324 is our standard standing seam roof system for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Why we added TS-324 to our roof system lineup

As building codes and performance requirements continue to evolve, BC Steel made the decision to license, train on, and tool up for TS-324 because it gives our builders a modern standing seam option engineered for current uplift, weathertightness, and longevity expectations.

The system was designed around Superior Seam Technology (SST), a set of patented components that work together: the seam joinery, the panel clips, the High-Capacity Starter and Rake plates with up to 7 inches of thermal travel, and pre-punched eave plates. Each piece is engineered to meet current IBC and ASCE 7 requirements, including the stricter edge and corner zone criteria that have driven much of the recent change in standing seam design.

For BC Steel, the choice came down to one question: what’s the best standing seam system we can offer the builders and contractors we work with? TS-324 was the answer.

One Panel Profile. Three Seam Options.

The TS-324 uses one 24-inch, 3-inch-tall panel across the entire system. The seam method is selected based on the project’s wind exposure and uplift requirements, which means a higher-performance seam can be specified in critical zones without changing panel inventory or installation workflow.

RollLok® Hand-crimped at the clips, panel laps, and eave/ridge transitions. Comparable install time to a snap-lock panel, with substantially better air and water infiltration performance.

TripleLok® Machine-seamed full length with a bi-directional electric seamer. The standard seam choice for most commercial and industrial applications.

QuadLok® The TripleLok seam re-seamed with an additional 90-degree rotation. Recommended for high-wind zones, coastal regions, and areas with sustained snow load.

What TS-324 Looks Like On A Takeoff

For a design-build contractor estimating a project, the difference between TS-324 and a legacy standing seam system shows up in three places.

Purlin spacing. TS-324 carries higher allowable uplift at 5-foot on-center purlin spacing than most competing standing seam systems achieve at narrower spacings. That can mean less secondary steel and fewer clips on the takeoff.

Clip and clamp inventory. TS-324 meets stricter wind uplift requirements through its seam, clip, and perimeter plate design rather than through external rib clamps added at clip locations. Fewer field add-ons. Cleaner roof appearance.

Long panel runs. When paired with the High-Capacity Starter and Rake plates, TS-324 supports panel runs up to 500 feet without rafter step-downs or mid-slope pinning. For large single-slope projects, that simplifies the framing design.

The result is a system that competes with snap-lock panels on cost and install time, competes with high-end standing seam systems on performance, and gives builders a consistent specification to work from regardless of project size.

Where TS-324 Belongs

TS-324 is engineered for commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural projects where standing seam is specified, including:

  • Warehouses and distribution centers
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Schools, gyms, and community buildings
  • Aviation hangars
  • Office and mixed-use buildings
  • Self-storage
  • Religious and event facilities

The system performs at slopes as low as ½:12, including ultra-low-slope applications that historically required a membrane system.

Technical Performance And Test Data

The TS-324 roof system is independently tested to the following standards:

  • ASTM E1592 – Wind uplift design loads. Up to 84.4 psf at 5′-0″ purlin spacing (24 gauge, QuadLok®  seam, 12″ wind clip).
  • FM 4471 – Factory Mutual roof classification. Up to 1-180 (22 ga, QuadLok® , 8″ clip, 2′-6″ purlin spacing).
  • ASTM E1680 – Air infiltration. 0.0046 cfm/sf at 40 psf static pressure (RollLok®  seam).
  • ASTM E1646 – Water infiltration. No leakage at 40 psf static pressure (TripleLok®  seam).
  • ASTM 2140 – Hydrostatic 6-inch water head, 24-hour test. No leakage.

Design loads calculated per ASTM E1592 with a 1.7 safety factor. Full test reports available upon request.

TS-324 Frequently Asked Questions

Is TS-324 the same as Double-Lok?

No. TS-324 is a different panel profile and a different seam system. It is built on Superior Seam Technology and produced by qualified manufacturers, including BC Steel.

What slope can TS-324 be installed on?

Slopes as low as ½:12, suitable for ultra-low-slope commercial and industrial applications.

How wide can purlin spacing be with TS-324?

Up to 5′-0″ on center for 24-gauge panels at standard uplift loads.

Is TS-324 available in 22 gauge?

Yes. 22 gauge is available for projects requiring higher uplift performance.

Does TS-324 require external wind clamps for high-wind zones?

TS-324 is designed to meet demanding wind-uplift requirements through the seam profile, clip selection, and High-Capacity perimeter plates, based on project-specific engineering.

What finishes are available?

Standard SMP and Premium PVDF (Kynar 500) finishes. Galvalume is also available. Full color chart available here.

Who installs TS-324?

Builders and contractors working with BC Steel install TS-324 on commercial and industrial projects. Crews familiar with mechanically seamed standing seam systems will find the install process consistent with industry standards.

Where can I rent seaming equipment for TS-324?

Seamers and hand crimping tools are available through D. I. Roof Seamers. Rentals include bi-directional seamers for TripleLok and QuadLok installation, with hand crimping tools included in the rental fee.
